Aaron West
Aaron West is an author and former film critic, writing primarily for online film publications and providing film festival coverage in the 2000s . Aaron then finished his degree in History and Film Studies. Since then, Aaron has pursued his love of film as a hobby, blogging and podcasting for over a decade. Aaron’s studies include French resistance and war films, Sunset Blvd, Ingmar Bergman, and has a taste for international classic films, and especially 1930s French cinema. Aaron launched the Criterion Close-Up and Criterion Now podcasts, and has participated on several CriterionCast podcasts.
Aaron West and Jill Blake launched CineJourneys in 2022, where they have built a Learning Management System platform for film professionals to teach online classes. Additionally they lead a film club community on topics ranging from historical cinema to awards season.
