Star Stone

Star Stone is a writer, performer, producer, playwright, poet, teaching artist, and advocate whose work blends disciplines of stand up comedy, musical satire, and poetry to draw social and political commentary.

Star is a recipient of the V- Day Foundation Grant Award and The C Venue Spark Fund (Edinburgh Fringe). She is a former member of the Oakland Slam Poetry Team, a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, and a member of the Dramatists Guild.

As a poet and performer, she has performed at New York Theater Workshop, La MaMa Galleria, The NY Poetry Festival, The Bootleg Theater (LA), The Odyssey Theater (LA), The Berkeley Slam, and more!

Star is a former student of The Upright Citizen’s Brigade in LA where she completed up to Improv 401 and Sketch 101. Star has both trained and performed at The PIT, The Groundlings, and The Villain Theater, where she was featured in Fresh Faces, a showcase of new stand up comedy talent in Miami. 

Her writing and producing credits include #MeToo, a one woman show (Solofest, Hollywood Fringe, Second City Hollywood, United Solo, Edinburgh Fringe Festival) and Villain Era (59E59 Theaters, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, CAVEAT, UCB, Bread and Roses Theatre London). She is also the creator of Cl*t Cult, a new one-woman comedy show about a sexual wellness cult.

Since 2022, Star has worked as an advocate for survivor’s voices including partnerships with The NYC Mayor’s Office to ENDGBV, Beyond the Violence: Stop Domestic Violence, and is a member of RAINN Speaker’s Bureau.

As an Anti-Bullying Advocate, Star has been featured on podcasts like Breaking Bullying and PTSD and Beyond to address cyber-harassment and the impact of online bullying.

Star has taught yoga for over 12 years and practiced for 20 years, training and teaching all over the world. She has taught yoga and meditation for Marquis Studios for the NY Public School systems and taught creative writing, performance, and characters for Wingspan Arts and Neo-Political Cowgirls. Star has also offered online workshops (in partnership with GOLD Comedy) helping artists prepare for the Edinburgh Fringe.
